About Carol
Carol Lawyer
Carol has dedicated much of her time to improving the standards, treatment protocols, and research outcomes within the intervention field. She served as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Association of Interventionist Specialists from 2007 until May 2013, and her work has had a profound impact on the overall quality of care provided by professional interventionists nationwide. In addition, she had previously served on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Certification Board. Carol had served as the Clinical Supervisor of both Fieldstone House, a Women’s Recovery and Sober Living Facility in West Brandywine, PA and Freedom Ridge, a Male Sober Living Facility. Carol developed a structured and successful program for both homes in order to enable residents the opportunity to succeed and thrive. Carol works tirelessly to improve the standards of treatment to ensure people in crisis get the care they both need and deserve.
She is the founder of Intervention First, an organization with a reputation for providing the very best in crisis intervention and consultation support for individuals and families. She is an expert interventionist who has helped hundreds of people caught in the grip of addiction, and she is highly regarded for the support and guidance her organization offers families who feel powerless to bring about positive change.
Carol incorporates Concierge services within her practice to customize and accommodate individual’s needing specific services. This is where Carol excels. Carol advocates for the client.
Carol is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (CCDP) and Certified Intervention Professional (CIP).
She graduated from the Penn State University Addictions Program in l992, and received her CAC from the Pennsylvania State Certification Board in 1996. She is a member of NAADAC (National Association of Addiction Counselors), ICRC (International Certification) Pro-Act, and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars from Penn State University.
She has received numerous awards during her professional career to include the Caron Treatment Center 2008 Addiction Professional of the Year Award, and the 2002 Unsung Hero Award.
